I believe that one of the biggest problems the world faces is overpopulation. This problem can be solved if everyone works together. There is enough wealth and resource in the world to fix the problem, however, it would take enough people who control the wealth and resources to make that change. There are options:
1. Wait for Governments and Wealthy
I live in a dream world where I imagine all the governments and wealthy people of the world collaborating to make the world a better place. I live in optimistic hope that it will happen one day, and I am sure when we face a crisis that is big enough it will. The sad reality is that if we wait that long – it will be too late.
2. Wait for Nature to make the Change
At some point in the future, nature will force change. It is already happening, however it will be too late.
3. Take Action
Ultimately, we need to take massive action. That start with the small actions of many people. Each of us can do something in our way. The very act of starting to contribute, will ultimately become a vision for change that is unique to you. The contribution does not have to be Financial; Time, Experience, Expertise and Passion are probably more important. The good news is that we all have these.
My belief is that there are three key things everyone in the worlds has a basic right to:
1. Health Care
We are very lucky in Australia. We have an amazing health care system that is free if you cannot afford to pay. I believe everyone in the world should have that.
2. Aged Care
Aged care is one of the most important things we can provide our society. When we get to retirement age, society look after us well, A lot of the worlds expanding population comes from less developed nations who are having 6 to 10 children in the hope that some of the offspring will be able to take care of them when they get older. I believe that if we had the certainty that we would looked after in our old age, developing nations would be more like developed nations and achieve Zero Population Growth or even a declining population.
3. Social Security
There are some people who are looking for work, some who cannot work and others who don’t want to work. We should provide a basic income to these people. We should never have to see people begging for money. If you get upset by people who doesn’t want to work – don’t worry about it – it is a fact of life, accept it as part of what makes up society.
Whilst education is important, there is enough free education available on the internet to get knowledge equivalent to a college degree and then create a productive and rewarding career without ever having set foot in an educational institution. All it takes is a desire and the persistence and motivation to do so.
Cultivo was born out of a desire to provide people with a means to create successful and ultimately contribute in a meaningful way.
It is at the intersection of passion for business and wanting to help make a positive change in the world. People who run businesses are the people who have the ability to make change, they have determination, persistence, unreasonable optimism and a passion to make the world a better place in some way. We help people get into business and build successful profitable business and ultimately contribute to positive change, particularly in the three key areas of Health Care, Aged Care and Social Security.
